How do Credit Activity Alerts work?

Truyu sends you an in-app notification when a credit file event is detected on your Experian credit file. There are two types of Credit Activity Alerts that Truyu provides you:

  • Your credit file was accessed – when a business views your credit file, usually indicating that you have applied for an account, service, or financial product.
  • An account was opened in your name – when a business modifies your credit file to indicate that an account has been successfully opened in your name for a particular service or financial product.

Truyu exclusively uses Experian as our credit reporting agency partner, meaning we cannot detect credit file activity with other agencies like Equifax or Illion.
