How do Credit Activity Alerts work?
Truyu sends you an in-app notification when a credit file event is detected on your Experian credit file. There are two types of Credit Activity Alerts that Truyu provides you:
- Your credit file was accessed – when a business views your credit file, usually indicating that you have applied for an account, service, or financial product.
- An account was opened in your name – when a business modifies your credit file to indicate that an account has been successfully opened in your name for a particular service or financial product.
Truyu exclusively uses Experian as our credit reporting agency partner, meaning we cannot detect credit file activity with other agencies like Equifax.
When you verify your identity with Truyu, we provide you with a history of Credit Activity Alerts as part of your free identity protection scan.
