A credit report ban stops your credit report from being accessed by credit providers, preventing credit from being taken out in your name. You should consider placing a ban if: - You think your identity has been compromised - Your personal information has been exposed in a data breach - You notice suspicious activity or alerts It’s a protective step to reduce the risk of fraud while you investigate. Truyu can request bans with Experian, and with Equifax if you’ve opted in, helping reduce the risk of unauthorised credit activity across both. Experian and Equifax are the two reporting bodies in Australia, so placing a ban on both provides full coverage. Credit report bans are free to request with Truyu.
